Terms of Service

Last updated 4 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Machinae Build. The most important clause is section 3: what this service produces is a design and a code check, not a set of permit drawings, and it does not replace a licensed engineer.

1. Who these terms are with

The service is developed and provided by Elena Denezhkina, who holds the copyright in it ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.

2. The service

You describe a steel building in plain English. We generate a three-dimensional design from that description and report the building-code checks that apply to it. Accounts include a limited number of free designs; we may change that allowance, and will not reduce an allowance you have already been granted for a design already produced.

3. What the output is, and what it is not

The designs and code checks are informational. They are produced automatically, including by AI models, and they are intended to help you scope a project and arrive at a supplier or an engineer knowing what to ask for.

You are responsible for having any design independently verified by a suitably qualified professional before relying on it, ordering materials, or building.

4. Your account

Keep your credentials secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used them. You are responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate contact details — the phone number and email you provide are how a supplier or our team reaches you about a quote.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the descriptions you write and the designs generated for you. You grant us the licence we need to operate the service — to process your description, generate and store your design, and show it back to you. We do not claim ownership of your project.

7. Our content

The software, the interface and the underlying models and libraries remain ours or our licensors'. These terms give you no rights in them beyond using the service as intended.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of it. Where a change is material and affects you, we will tell you.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Limitation of liability

Subject to section 9, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue, contracts, or data, however arising. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.

In particular, and given section 3, we are not liable for construction costs, rework, delay, or regulatory consequences arising from reliance on an output that was not independently verified by a qualified professional.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from your reliance on an output contrary to section 3.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached, or if we must do so to protect the service or comply with the law.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. It forms part of these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and continued use after a material change means you accept it. If you do not, stop using the service and ask us to close your account.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the place where we are established. Nothing here affects any mandatory rights you have where you live.
